Partnership announcement: Velon partners with Insiders for the 2023 season

Velon, the company formed by the world’s top professional cycling teams to take fans into the heart of the sport, has selected Insiders as its Official Supplier of Data Transmission Devices.

Insiders is supplying Velon with the INTENSE device, which is mounted under the saddles of bikes to capture live data including position, power (watts) and cadence (RPM – revolutions per minute of the pedals). Velon pioneered this new type of data application in the sport to show the fans the performance of the riders. Cycling fans around the world see the data during the races and get inside the performance of their favourite athletes.

The data is transmitted live and appears in the live broadcast coverage of races and on the digital channels of Velon, the newest of which is Road Code: www.roadcode.cc Insiders will continue to support Velon as it develops live and post-race data analysis.

Graham Bartlett, CEO, Velon, said: “Working with Insiders has helped us improve data transmission for our system, a key part of helping us deliver our best live race centre on Road Code. The compact, lightweight device design is the best we have ever used.

Julie Royer, CEO of Insiders, says: Our partnership with Velon is a milestone for Insiders as it strengthens our presence in the world of professional cycling. Velon’s goal is to bring people inside the peloton using live data, and this is 100% our DNA: taking coaches, teams, federations, broadcasters and fans further and higher with high precision data. Furthermore, the collaboration with Velon is very constructive and we have good feedback on our device regarding usability, weight and design. We are looking forward to the rest of the season.

Velon uses a wide-range of technology, data and on-bike cameras to open up professional cycling and deliver insights into the performance of the riders and their teams.

Velon is owned by BORA-hansgrohe, EF Education-EasyPost, INEOS Grenadiers, Intermarché-Circus-Wanty, Lotto DSTNY, Soudal Quick-Step, Team DSM, Team Jumbo-Visma, Trek-Segafredo and UAE Team Emirates.
